Seit 2011 verwaltet SIG das Kanalnetz der Stadt Genf mit der KANDIS-Produktfamilie. Erst kürzlich erfolgte das Update auf
novaKANDIS 10.8.1. Dabei folgt der Updateprozess der Systemumgebung einem klassischem Ansatz in der Informationstechnik in drei Schritten:
1. Upgrade der Entwicklungsumgebung (DEV)
2. Upgrade der Testumgebung (TEST bzw. STAGING) und
3. Upgrade der Produktionsumgebung (PROD)
Alle Systemumgebungen sind in der IT-Architektur bzw. Systemlandschaft definiert und werden nach deren Regeln in planmäßiger Koexistenz betrieben. Mit dieser klassischen Art der Bereitstellungsumgebung gelingt es SIG die Ausfallzeiten für die Anwender auf ein absolutes Minimum zu reduzieren. So konnte auch der produktive Betrieb der KANDIS-Produktfamilie in der Updatephase nahezu lückenlos fortgeführt werden.
Die KANDIS Anwender profitieren zudem von vielen neuen Funktionen wie z.B. einem überarbeiteten Inspektor, effizienter Reporttechnologie und sind damit für kommende Herausforderungen und den Einsatz mobiler Technologien vorbereitet.

SIG has been managing the sewer network of the city of Geneva with the KANDIS product family since 2011. Recently, the update to novaKANDIS 10.8.1 was delivered. Thereby, the update process of the system environment follows a classical approach in information technology in three steps:
1. Upgrade of the development environment (DEV)
2. Upgrade of the test environment (TEST or STAGING) and
3. Upgrade of the production environment (PROD)
All system environments are defined in the IT architecture or system landscape and are managed according to its rules in planned coexistence. With this classic type of deployment environment, SIG succeeds in reducing downtime for users to an absolute minimum. As a result, productive operation of the KANDIS product family continued almost without interruption during the update phase.
KANDIS users also benefit from many new functions such as a revised inspector, efficient reporting technology and are thus
prepared for future challenges and the use of mobile technologies.
